Long loading times?

Is it just me or does this game take WAY too long to load? Start up, world starting, world loading, etc. Everything takes anywhere from 5-12 minutes. I have no mods, my internet isn't great but it's not BAD no games have taken this long to load previously, does anyone else have this issue?

It should not take long to load unless your Windows is set up weirdly (not enough RAM or if you have the paging file turned off for some reason)
Alternatively, if you have a very slow hard drive as your C drive.

Might be my C drive, am I able to change it to a different drive?

You can move the game from Steam if you have it on C, and then you can change the default "Saves" location of the game with this command:

Steam Library > Right click Project Zomboid > Properties > Set Launch Options > Type -cachedir=D:\Zomboid > Start the game

Don't even try with the hardware crap excuse. This has been happening since the last major update and it's pissing me right off.

Would be nice to be able to play the game I paid for in a timely manner when I start it up.

I have multiple fast nvme ssds, fast 4x ram 3600mhz 32GB (8GB each), RTX2080Ti, I9-9900K, and the game takes a long time to load up, and to load into a server, everything else is fine. On Linux, like on my Steam Deck, is almost instant. Idk if it is just something to do with Java on Windows vs Linux, cause I have also experienced that Minecraft Java vanilla just runs much better on Linux compared to Windows.
