How to put a weapon on the table in project zombie

I watched a lot of videos on PZ and almost everyone had weapons lying nicely on the table, but when I put them on the table using the "place" function, they don't lie nicely on top of each other in 2D. What am I doing wrong?

Probably a lack of practice, you need to be quite precise and the isometric viewpoint makes that harder. Pay attention to the highlighted tile so you don't accidentally place something behind the object you want it on top off.
