Zomboid wont go past acknowledgment page on MacOS Sonoma
Hello, I just downloaded and installed Project Zomboid for my MAC.
I am running MAC OS Sonoma 14.5, M1 Processor and 16GB Memory.
When I launch the game, it comes up to the licensing and acknowledgement page and it does nothing, I cant select Agree or Quit. Nothing works on the screen to proceed. I have to Opt-Command-Esc and close Project Zomboid to get out of it.
Is this game compatible with MAC OS? Before I downloaded it I saw the MAC icon, Windows Icon and Steamdeck Icon for compatibility.
Please advise on how I can get this to run on my MAC.
Thank you!

Try going to the Home\Zomboid folder and edit the options.ini file with a text editor.
In that file, edit the fullscreen=true line to fullscreen=false
Then try launching the game again.

Just an update that this works. Edited through TextEdit. Appreciate the quick fix on our side.

Game crashed immediately with unknown error when launching tutorial 😕

UPDATE: I have sent a refund request for the game. On my Mac M1 (latest OS) there is a major issue with hitboxes for the cursor. Everything I try to click requires a gradient (worse the higher on screen) of guesswork to interact with. The inventory and health status toasts were beyond difficult to manoeuvre.

I'd love to play, but I'll wait for confirmation on these issues being fixed for Mac prior to repurchasing. Game also crashed a couple times and required me to force shutdown my laptop to retry.

The game is not officially supported on Mac M1-M3 at the moment as written on the Store page. It only works thanks to the emulation that Mac does, which may cause various issues as you may have experienced.

Please remove Mac compatibility from the store listing. I shouldn't need to dig around a store page to find out that something is mis-advertised.

I say this with all due respect. I've been very excited to play and finally spent the 20 euros on it. Was a complete letdown.

If this isn't officially supported it shouldn't have the Mac icon in Steam until it is supported.

It is compatible with macs, just not specific hardware.

As said above, Mac is supported, but M1+ chips are not, this is clearly written on the Steam page, the page is not mis-advertised.
