RAM leaks
Memory leaks in the game happen constantly and endlessly.
I have 16gb of RAM and 32gb of swap. I usually host the game (via a button in the client) and my RAM consumption is usually 14-15gb for a client and 9-10gb for a server. Having disabled all mods on the client and server, making new settings for the test I saw that the client consumes 7gb and the server consumes 5gb right after 'click to start'. The game also continues to use swap and use my cpu quite heavily. Playing multiplayer for long periods of time almost always resulted in horrible leaks and resulting in system freeze for minutes or hours. But the log says:

How are you exactly measuring your RAM usage? Additionally, the game itself does not have any memory leaks that we are aware off, if it did then there would be way more reports of it. Do you have any mods enabled perhaps? Do your issues happen without them?

free / htop / btop
In all cases, with and without mods, RAM consumption is very high, especially buff/cache. Buff/cache usage is more than 11GiB
Free ram with mods: 350-1000MiB
Free ram without mods: 3000-3500MiB

It would be recommended to instead use Visual VM for example to see the actual RAM usage, since the game is limited to 3GB only. How much RAM are you assigning to the server?

I tried 4/6. 4gb was the best option
upd: 3gb is even better
