Monitor turns black/off when I start the game.

Hi!

Yesterday i installedthe game again after aprox 1 year or maybe more. It worked fine yesterday.
Today I tried the game again but now if I start the game my monitor turns off. I can hear the sounds in the backround i can even hear the coursor touching some menu options.
But I can't do anything, it's just black. I tried to disconect and reconecct the monitor but nothing helps.

Any ideas?

I tried like 10 other games none of them has any issues like this.

Can you share your game logs so we can check for any errors?
Go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid
Open the console.txt
Copy everything from there to https://pastebin.com/
Click “Create a new paste”

Thank you for the fast response.

I found a solution. I have opened options.ini and changed fullscreen to false. Now its works fine, the only issue is that I have to switch back to fullscreen everytime I start the game, but at least its works now : )

how do you open options.ini

Go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid and just doubleclick the options.ini file, it is a text file.

Iam having the trouble when using windows 11 HDR (my 2K screen supports HDR) when iam playing the game everything is fine but when i quit the game the screen colors are fated like grey toned (Desktop colors are messed up) Iam able to fix this whit turning off the screen or switching resolution but it is super annoying to do everytime. All my other games work fine and iam only having this issue whit project zomboit.

The game does not support HDR, therefore what you are experiencing is your HDR monitor switching to SDR most likely due to that.
