Performance issues on Nvidia 3080, AMD Ryzen 7 5800x, 16gb ram, Samsung Odyssey G9
I'm having huge performance issues on my PC. Fully zoomed out with default settings i'm getting 12 fps. Though my resolution is 5120x1440 even at 3840x1080 the performance is very bad.
CPU usage is around 10-20%, GPU at around 40%, RAM is at 1.2 gb usage.
The gfx card and cpu should be able to handle this... So, uh.. can someone help me here?

Try going to your Nvidia control panel and set the power options to "Maximum performance"

This did not help. Any other suggestions?

Try disabling the Dynamic Skybox in the game?

Slight difference, but not much.

Tried it, no change. Considering the issue exists from the very start of the game, i doubt it's a blood decals issue.

I've got a similar problem. Using the 32bit version of the game instead of the 64bit version more than doubles my framerate (yes I'm serious). Even with the gains performance zoomed out isn't fantastic at any resolution above 1920x1080 which is unfortunate. Let me know if this helps at all because I'm genuinely curious as to why this happens.

Wut, so 32bit is better? Need to try this out also :)

Can you launch via Steam in 32bit mode somehow?

My controllers (xbox one) do not work without Steam if you launch via bat files..
femma Jan 8, 2022 @ 5:46pm
Oh well, 32bit bat throws some sort out of memory Java error.. I tied changing memory settings to no avail.
Bitsy Jan 8, 2022 @ 8:45pm
The 32bit bat has never worked for me, and I don't know what's wrong with it. JVM is mostly a black box to me. Just running the 32bit executable has always worked for me though and if you want to add launch parameters too it you can edit ProjectZomboid32.json
Same issue here

Clicking the 32bit exe does nothing for me. Bat gives these kinds of errors, but at least tries to start the game:

Having huge issues with this game and I've owned PZ for several years. Every 5 mins or so I need to restart the entire game as my FPS drops to 1/5 or even less and everything becomes jerky. No other game performs like this. Like the OP I have a 3080 series card and a Ryzen. Any ideas would be appreciated and might help the OP as well , cheers.
