Project Zomboid 4-Copy Bundle Steam Sale Questions

The PZ steam going on right now has the option of buying PZ for yourself and +3 copies to send to friends. However, I already have PZ. Normally when you have a game in a bundle it removes the cost of any games you already have but this doesn't seem to recognize that I already own it.

It still gives me the option to purchase this bundle however. If I already have purchased the game, does that mean i just lose money on the deal, or would I get 4 copies to send to friends instead?

As far as I understand, you would only get 3 copies.

if you bought that, can you tell after that if you got 3 or 4? because nobody really knows

I didn't buy it, because since it appeared I wouldn't get 4 copies from it, it would in that case be less expensive for me to buy them individually on sale (I'd pay an extra $3, whereas if I did get 4 copies I'd have saved about $8).
