No Main Menu UI?
So, my game is booting up with no UI. No Project Zomboid logo, nothing. I was able to fix it by downloading the IWBUMs build, but it seems strange that it happened in the first place:

-This was a first time install on a recently installed operating system, on an external drive.
-I verified integrity several times as I tried the support info.
-I ran it in windowed, at 800x600 on my 1080p monitor, so there was no risk of the menu being obscured.
-Ran it on Windows 10.
-I deleted my %username%/zomboid folder and the "Lua" folder inside it about a dozen times.
-I unsubscribed to all mods.
-I turned multi-core rendering in options.ini.
-I disabled the steam overlay UI.
-I ran it both in regular and compatibility mode.
-I tried the UI hotkey 'v' and had no changes.
-I tried moving the game to my main drive, and verified cache integrity and deleted 'zomboid'.

None of this worked, and I would consider my system to be stock average for the playerbase. I'm running a new operating system, I am using a Nvidia 750 TI, and an intel i3, and all of my drivers are up to date.

I was able to solve this by moving to the beta builds, but I'm kinda shocked this happened in the first place with a year old stable build.

The issue happens when you switch between the beta build and the stable build, as it replaces some of the files and the stable build cannot handle that when you switch back. Usually deleting the "Lua" folder in "C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid" can fix that, if that doesn't help, you will have to delete everything else in that folder except the "saves" folder, to not lose your saved games.
If that doesn't help either, players had success by just reinstalling the game, just make sure you are on the public build of the game and reinstall it.

If none of this works, try starting the game and close it after it stops at the UI, after that go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid
Open the console.txt
Copy everything from there to https://pastebin.com/
Share the link to the pastebin here.

This will give us the log from what happens when the game stops loading the UI and we can try to help based on that.

================
operating system: macOS
the result of trying
build 38.30 - no game menu shown, BGM and background motion picture shown fine.
build 39 - no game menu shown, BGM and background motion picture shown fine.
build 41beta - game works fine
build 41beta IWBMS - works fine.
Hi there, what if Im having the same problem, and I'm using macOS, how can i fix this problem?

I can't switch to build 38.30, 39 and None as 40, once i start the game through steam, all i can see is the starting menu background without the menu, the BGM and the back ground picture motion shows the flashes fine, which I believe its not crashed.

this is really odd, i could switch build to play a year ago, and i wonder the solution for macOS user

You can try the same solution on a Mac computer as well. The "Zomboid" folder is located in your main "User" folder (or Home folder), there you can just try deleting the Lua and see if it helps.

Thank you so much for your suggestions, deleting the folder "Lua" solves it all. Much appreciated!!:steamhappy::steamthumbsup:
