The cursor has disappeared in both fullscreen and windowed borderless. Funny thing is, even quitting and restarting the game doesn't bring it back. Each subsequent restart of the game does so without the cursor.
OS: Windows 8.1, fully updated
CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q6700 @ 2.66ghz, not overclocked
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6700, not overclocked
RAM: 5GB
To clarify, I have had this problem on two separate occasions. First time I was in fullscreen 1920x1080, second time was borderless windowed 1920x1080. I had been playing for a while in both cases, the cursor disappeared as I was browsing the options in the 'Esc' menu. The cursor was visible if I alt-tabbed to desktop. Quitting the game and restarting, the cursor wasn't present from the start. To fix it I had to navigate the options via their mouse-over highlights, changing to windowed 1600x900.
Here are my specs,
OS: Windows 10 (64bit)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20ghz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950
RAM: 8.00GB
This is EXACTLY what happened to me, very strange.
After double checking, the second mouse device is present in the device manager again. The computer hasn't been rebooted sine I disabled it earlier, so I don't know why it's been reinstalled.
That said though, this is the only game or program I use that has a disapearing cursor problem, regardless of this phantom mouse device.
I feel like an idiot but yeah, you can make your mouse come up by turning it on in the settings under the controller tab, Oh I'm special xD.

Sorry for wasting your time and brain cells on this Enigma.
Does this help you Xune?
If they do need to be checked, why is the cursor present for hours with out it but then disapears suddenly? And why does changing from fullscreen to windowed or vice versa bring it back again?
Your mouse disappearing half way through playing is very strange. I assume its to do with you having that second mouse present in your device manager, I would suggest experimenting with the controller tab (even if it doesnt sound right it couldnt hurt?) and restarting PZ as that fixed my cursor problems, also if you look at my screenshot, it is seeing two mouses, if yours also sees two then maybe by activating what I assume is your mouse and this phantom mouse then it might work. In any case I'm a mechanic not an IT technician I really have no idea what I'm doing half the time, I'm just running on guesses and assumptions xD.
Do you use f.lux too PZ-Noob?
Sorry you couldnt find a solution for your problem here Xune, hope you can discover a fix soon. Did you have any luck looking into whether your F.lux program was interfering with your cursor?
To be fair, it's only happened three times in the several hours I've played this past week. It's just that when it does it can be quite annoying to quit the game and navigate the options menu. I'm happy to sit tight and wait for the next version to release to test it further though.
It looks like flux might not be the cause though, it came on this evening and I had no problems with the cursor.
1) open a console window and navigate to ProjectZomboid directory
2) go to display settings
3) set scaling to 100%
4) set scaling back to what it was
5) start the game, e.g. "cmd /c ProjectZomboid64 <nul"
The cursor will appear.
NOTE: it's the important bit to do step (1) before (3) and (4).
I've played several hours in windowed borderless 1776x1000 without issue, but whenever I go fullscreen 1920x1080 or windowed borderless 1920x1080 the cursor is almost guaranteed to disappear during that play session.
It's disappeared minutes after starting the game while navigating sandbox settings, a few minutes after starting while I was walking around, an hour in while navigating the inventory to make food, and while in the esc menu as mentioned in my earlier report. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to this and I've ruled out flux starting up as the cause.
