New update broke controls for Deck Users

I play Project Zomnboid on the Deck in Desktop Mode. Normally the game boots up and when I try to use mouse and keyboard a pop up window will ask me if i want to switch to Mouse/Keyboard. This no longer happens and I cannot right click to look around or swing anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I do not own a Steam Deck, nor I have ever used or seen one, but if there is a Desktop mode I assume there are also other modes. Could you try that? Maybe one of them let's you. If not, maybe you could just use the native Steam Deck controls? (I understand those are Xbox like)

Your "Aim" key has likely been unassigned by the update, reassign a key to it and see if that fixes it.

im having a similar problem , i tried to reassign the right mouse button and it doesnt allow me

You cannot assign the right mouse button directly, you will need to assign a key and then right moust aiming will work again.

so i set it to left control and yes you are right , i can right click again but it was never like this before because i didnt want left control to used for that

Thanks this worked, reinstalling also worked (I installed the non wine version) I think it only worked because it resets that key to ctrl though.

That other Crazy Cat Person is in the same room with me.. with 6 cats lol

this guy plays with 300 trait points

While the above works it still thinks its on gamepad mode and navigating the menus requires clicking now, also E no longer works for interact. Hope they fix this

happened the same, just reset the default and it fixed it. but I was almost getting caught by zombie coz of this :D
