question about mechanics magazines

i am a bit confused as to what magazine i need to find in order to be able to remove the damn windows from my truck. the wiki says there are only 3 magazines you need called the "laines auto manual". i found 2 of them, performance and commercial. i'm assuming one is meant for the heavy duty vehicles and the other for sport cars, it even says so in the item description.

but here is where i get confused, if i have read the heavy duty magazine that teaches me to work on heavy duty vehicles, why do i still get the red text saying i don't have the basic mechanics recipe?? if i need another book to teach me the basic recipes then how in the ♥♥♥♥ am i able to remove windows from the standard vehicles?? the last possibility is that there are 9 books one for each complication level per vehicle class, but that would be 9 books and and every forum topic and wiki page says there are only 3 magazines.

i really don't understand please help me understand. build 41 btw.

there are 3 of them, standard, commercial, and sport - i forget the exact name of them - the auto shops are actually not a good place to find them - the giant gun shop by echo creek or the community center there with the library are both really good early game stops for guns/firearms/books/magazines.

You also need base level skills in mechanics and electrical for some car maintenance functions. You also may need specific tools for them. There is no other component besides these things that I know of.

the mechanics books are only for XP acceleration - they don't unlock anything - only the magazines do. I also saw a mention of B42 Multiplayer being bugged for recipes learned if you are in multiplayer doing this..

well i am build 41 and single player.

i am in riverside, i checked the boat club library entirely, the post office, the book store, hardware store, gas station, countless houses and other buildings that have library shelves, and the auto shop nearby outside the city. and i still have not found the manual for standard models.

the school is the only place i haven't checked i guess i'lll go there. but i am not about to go a different city only to just find a single book. how am i able to find the herbalist and generator magazines but not this one? where else can i look in riverside?

Honestly, you'd have better chance simply scouring the residential area. Riverside feature an enormous number of high-end houses, each having a chance to provide a variety of magazines. Don't forget to check the mailboxes too, you never know.
