Actually the first thing i disable is Steam Sync or Galaxy Sync. It is just annoying. I have my saves well maintained and i dont want to wait for it to sync for seconds or minutes (depending on their servers) to be able to play. Not to mention if Steam is down or disconnects(which it does almost dayly now) you cannot even access those saves.
So actually i am happy there is no Steam Cloud Sync here.
That's the excuse? lol
Its okay, you only had since 2013 to do it!
Probably, seems like a lot of things are low on the priority list
Go develop your own game, See how many things you don't end up doing in a long time because you have other more important fish to fry. TIS isn't a monumental company like EA or Ubisoft, They have to pick their battles and their priorities with a fine toothed comb. So yeah, A lot of things ARE low on the priority list. Well below big projects like the animation upgrade, the readdition and fixing of multiplayer, the addition and refining of NPCs, and other constantly requested updates and additions.
Know how many people regularly ask for Steam Cloud? A couple a year. It's a QOL feature, But one that isn't strictly necessary because users are fully capable of backing up files themselves or putting it on a USB stick to travel with them... These options are not as CONVENIENT as Steam Cloud, But they are equally as functional. Which means the addition of Steam Cloud functionality is, strictly speaking, doing work to add a feature which Technically Speaking, Already exists. Which is a comparative waste of time in the light of everything else that needs doing.
ok
1. Steam craps out, so the next time you load the game it pulls an old outdated save from the cloud even though your local save is newer, so you lose your progress.
2. The internet craps out, and you have the same situation.
3. Your game crashes or something, so since any saves that you made in that time weren't uploaded to Steam cloud, you lose them in favor of Steams out-of-date save that gets pulled down when you load your game.
Compared to others I think they do a decent job at keeping this a good place to have mature constructive discussions while removing any toxicity or problematic peoples.
But seriously, I'm glad I don't work in an industry like gaming where I have to deal with people acting like the creators are lazy or incompetent because things aren't done NOW.
