How you Died - List
I have been away from the game for a good 2 years and recently came back. I don't see too many changes, but I wondered if there were more ways to die that I do not have on my list.

If you have a way to die that I don't have listed please let me know.

1. Drink Bleach.
2. Eat poison berry.
3. Eat burnt food.
4. Eat spoiled/rotten food/mushroom.
5. Fall to death.
6. Burn to death.
7. Die in explosion (oven, pipe bomb, metal in microwave)
8. Group of zombies pull you down.
9. Losing health from wound, bleeding out.
10. Zombification from zombie bite or percentage chance from laceration or scratch.
11. Vehicle crash. Run over by vehicle.
12. Starvation: Weight 35 and emaciated trait.
13. Dehydration.
14. Trait: Prone to Illness. More likely to die from 'anything' in the world.
15. Close proximity to Zombie corpse sickness.
16. Drink tainted water.
17. Hypothermia: Freeze to death.
18. Heat stroke: Get too hot.
19. Drug Overdose: Example sleeping pills and alcohol.
20. Carbon Monoxide poisoning from generator indoors.

Surprise Zombie: Go around corner, stairs, through door and get surprised by zombie and die immediately from a bite.

PVP: Getting shot or melee attacked. Eating poisoned 'prepared' food.

Lower health - Leads to a quicker death:
Virus: Scratches 25% - Laceration & Bite 100%
Over burdened inventory will lower health to about 30%.
Any trait that carries 'Prone to Injury'. (Emaciated, Obese, Overweight, Underweight, Very Underweight)

Under discussion:
Infection from unclean wounds.

Apparently tainted water won't kill you now.
Wound infection won't kill you.
Hypochondriac trait doesn't exist anymore.
Prone to Illness is basically free points right now, and not a direct cause of death. Just a catalyst.

Microwave explodes if you put metallic item now, leading to fiery death.

What does drinking tainted water do to you?

I would be very surprised if wound infections did not kill because in real life they do...

As for Prone to Illness, in the past that cause 'symptoms' from very minor things which could cause the death.

I just wanted some extra discussion around those things before I remove them.

Dying from an Infection is a myth in this game. Whoever said they died of that, just had a severe injury, and didn't let it heal enough before removing the bandage to check - so they actually just bled out while looking at their wound. Infections only slow healing and cause pain, they don't cause injury.

Can't die from being surprised by a zombie either. The player just didn't react in time with a block, and the zombie managed to rip their throat. Injuries to the neck area have such rapid health loss that unless it was a minor injury, you'll likely bleed out before you can even get the health window open.

Heat stroke is very unlikely, unless you're in a burning building.

Aside from that, the list looks good.

Haven't tried tainted water in a while, but it used to be just like eating poisoned/burnt food.
So perhaps the developers decided to remove infection deaths. Even though the #1 thing that will kill a lot of people in a real apocalypse is wound infection. It is a thing in the real world if left untreated.

What I mean by dying from a surprise attack is you have a chance for 'instant death' upon getting the virus and a zombie that was not in your view instantly bites you. I have had this happen a few times, usually on stairs. Of course as I said that was a few years ago.

No matter how 'unlikely' something is, if you can die from it then it is a thing. So for now I will leave heatstroke on the list.

Spike trap is from a mod I believe. If we are including mods there are many others too, but that seems pointless.

Also I have one though I am not sure if it is a vanilla behavior. You can die from a combination of Painkillers/Sleeping Pills and Alcohol.

Yes, I have that covered in this section:
Drug Overdose: Example sleeping pills and alcohol.

Tainted water does kill you

Drinking tainted water straight from a River will make you queasy but as long as you go easy or don't gain any additional sickness it'll quickly subside

Putting the river water in a bottle or drinking tainted rain water from a water collector will kill you

Oh yeah, it's like this. Right, right. I couldn't recall how it worked, all I remember was that the mechanic is pretty damn ridiculous.

Also, I don't know if this video covers everything, but...
