Well, for example if I only needed the watch to show the hour has changed that's one example. Another being the inventory bars could pop up only where I need to hover over where I placed it on my screen and show up only when there's items on the ground and containers available to loot or transfer items. There's of course a few things I might be forgetting but these are the first in mind.
though PZ might have more civil steam discussions
But iirc you can sort of do this already. If you have your inventory window open and collapsed, it will open by itself if you have a container highlighted and you (double) click on it.
As for the clock... eh... why would you want to see the hour only?
The concept is that I don't need to have it on my screen the whole time. Let's say I only need to know that an in game hour has passed and it fades in and out after about 10 seconds or so. The same idea about the loot menu can be applied to the clock is if I want to access it immediately, I can hover my mouse over where it would be and interact with it like normally.
My suggestion or request of info is simply an insurance
