Also, instead of trying to clear out a horde, you could just shout at them and herd them somewhere else. Then break their line of sight so they forget about you; then you can circle back.
and even though there is a small amount of escape time even if your getting attacked by 10 at a time, it will take some time, and if there is a crawler you might not have it.
it's just stupid that the crawlers can attack when i'm shoving because the walking zombies can't. it's like i hit a zombie in the skull, and now it can only crawl, but yet it's 10 times more powerful.
if there is a crowd of zombies attacking me a crawler zombie would get trampled by the other zombies and would be able to attack me in the first place.
then again i probably wouldn't be able to just block for an eternity as long as i had a two handed weapon.
if you want to run-and-gun, then you're in the wrong game
I think your positioning is all wrong, come in alreay pulled back and hit it from the side if possible, in about 20h I have literally never been scratched or bit by a crawler.
Personally, I haven't had much trouble with crawlers. They are slow and can't turn around really fast, which you can use to your advantage. You shouldn't approach more than 2 zombies directly, anyways.
