Please help... I can't build anything but nail boards.

I can't build anything but nail boards even though I have a lvl 2 in carpentry. I want to build a wall or wooden barricade but even though I have all the materials it doesn't give me an option to build anything but a nail board. Any help would be appreciated.

the iteams in my inventory usually the wood planks and i just tryed doing the max of wood nails in my inventory with a hammer equiped in main and then in secondary. still no go

Aha. You need to right click on the ground and that'll bring up the "build" menu, where you can select walls, door frames, barrells etc.

Right click on a window to barricade it.

no prob brother. I will try right clicking on the ground cause i have had no problem barricading windows. On another not bags won't open for me either, when i put things in the bag i can't access the loot in the bags it just won't show up at all. I have tryed having the bag on my back and as main, second and nothing works to open the bag. I right click on the bag and it still won't open and show the loot inside.

For bags, you need them equipped on your back on in your primary / secondary.

In your inventory, you'll see a picture of a box and a picture of an equipped bag, in a little column to the right hand side of the inventory. Clicking on these icons lets you move between your different bags or main inventory. You can drag and drop items on to these icons to put things in your different bags too.

Yes I know this but they still won't open and I just tryed right clicking outside and i stiil don't get an option to build a wall.

do you have all the things you need in your main inventory. if you have planks and nails in bag it won´t work

Wow dude sounds like you're having bad luck. Because right clicking on the ground should bring up the menu you need for building and left clicking the bags icon in your inventory (under the box icon) should open the clicked bag. I'd suggest verifying files and if that doesn't work try a complete reinstall.

yea i am about to say ♥♥♥♥ it and stop playing the game cause it keeps crashing after an hour or two and I can't do anything I want to make the game more fun.

Ok so I figured out the problem. I have been using a controller to play the game so when i didn't the build tab poped up when I right clicked. But this really sucks because my mouse is built into my laptop. Does anyone know how to fix this for using a controller?

They're working on the controller support so no fix at this time.

i figured that. Thanks for all the help. On another note, has anyone been experiencing a high lvl of lag when in the town to the north right where knox bank and the strip of builds is? I want to make an outpost there but it lags soooooooo much when I am in that area even with the lowest graphics setting.
