Producing your own electricity/water?
After electricity and water run out, is there a way to get these? Isn't there a farm house with a well, too?

I'd like to know as well. So far I think the only way to get infinite water is from a Well. I think in future updates they are going to add water that can be acquired from rivers.

If they permit camp fires then distilling dirty water should be an option. Just boiling might not be good if there is chemical contamination. Boiling kills biologics, but can concentrate non-volatile chemicals.

Rainwater barrels work (for some) already as well. And i remember there was a statment about building a windmill and such... but thats future talk, first up are the NPCs before they'll add new constructions to the game.

And i believe there is a mod that expands the constructions.

There are wells (not sure where) which have unlimited water supply. The devs also said there will be ways to produce electricity in the future.

I think it would be a good idea to allow players to build/move a small generator which runs on fuel and can power a single house. This would still give players the choice of refrigirating in long winters. It would also add another lategame objective which is to regularly make runs to the gas station. It could also be used to power some sort of electric fence to keep zombies out of your safehouse. But fuel will run out eventually as well.

Because building a generator is more a convenience thing it should be locked behind a high-tier carpentery skill, maybe tier-4. Tier-5 could make the process more effective and the generator that you build doesn't require as much fuel anymore.

Maybe if they really want to progress this idea further the player can visit a electricity plant that is physically located on the map and can find the blueprints for a new type of generator which mainly requires logs or some other ingredient as fuel. This would probably give players enough things to do in the late game.

Afaik RoboMat the wells arent infinite. I can't remember who told us but it was during one of Twiggy's live streams. I think it was ErasmusCrowley as he was working with the devs on the new water system, they have around about 2500 "pots" of water in them. Seemingly unlimited amounts though :P

Generators are already in the "official" suggestion list and have been confirmed to be implemented at somewhere in the future.

There's two wells in the game. One in a farm and another in a cabin a bit outside of town. There's also rain barrels
