Cooking help..
I have some uncooked bacon and i'm stuck inside a workshop. There is a microwave, but I have no absolute clue how to cook it?

I turned the microwave on, and placed it in, but it's still uncooked.. so I'm missing something aren't I?

If it's working, you would notice a red outline around the item. I haven't tried bacon, but I cooked steak and stuff in an oven with no problem.

Also if you're late into the game, it's possible that gas/electric might be out.

To make a campfire, you need Campfire Materials. You can make one with 3 planks and 1 flammable object such as a sheet or bandage. The materials are not consumed - you can use them to make a campfire and when you pack it up you'll get it back.

To light it, you need to use consumable Kindlings, which are created from sturdy sticks (saw + plank) and drilled plank (screwdriver + plank).

Logs can be added if the fire dies down.

In other words, you want to start your campfire near trees. Bring your campfire materials, a saw, a screwdriver, and a weapon to knock a tree down.

I assume making a campfire in your kitchen = bad.

Probably.

And how to make soups? I can't manage to do that...

To make a soup you need a cooking pot. It probably needs to be full of water. And you'll need vegetables. Variety of vegetables makes for better soups. If you've got what you need, right clicking the pot should give you the option to make the soup. Then cook it, and get 4 empty bowls and you can pour it into each bowl and get 4 soups.

You'll know if an item is cooking because the background goes RED for the item.

Much like a fridge sets items with a BLUE background to show they're colder.

Meats and soups can take an hour or more (game time) to cook. I know my "tasty soup" takes about 90 minutes (I usually go do something else while it cooks; keeping a close eye on the clock).

Don't leave popcorn or TV dinners unattended. They cook very fast, and once burned if the oven is still on they'll catch fire (and the fire will spread and do bad things).
