Going through windows

is there a way to move through open/broken windows? Seems like 90% of buildings I find are locked.

Just walk at the window and left click on it, you can also bash down doors but it makes a craptonne of noise, so expect to get swarmed.

everytime i left click on an open window it just closes it.

Holding E next to a window makes your character force open the door (takes anywhere from 2-10+secs). Once open, hold E again to climb through. Clicking E when window is open closes the window. Spam clicking E used to break the window (havn't used it in a while though)

Note that breaking a window without using a tool will cause damage to you :)
