Why PZ on Geforce Now sucks.
I am over 200h in the game now. I don't own any Windows machine, just Macs.
The Mac version has many problems especially on the M1/2, so I play PZ on Geforce Now as most of the games. That might change as Apple's game porting toolkit showed that the M1/2 can play even actual AAA games despite the fact that it has to run 2 virtualization layers(Win2Mac, x86 to ARM).

What I really love is the modding community and especially some vehicle mods that let you build you own armored car. A lot of mods should be in the vanilla game, but that is my opinion. But I enjoy them very much.

A problem with GFN is that is won´t save you mods, so they have to be loaded every time you start a GFN session for PZ. You have to go to the mod menu, enable the mod template, wait for all mods to be downloaded again and then enable them. That is quire time consuming.

Yesterday I experienced the worst case scenario. My game save with about 100h invested got destroyed. It seems like a few mods did not complete loading when I started the game. So instead of my shiny MB W460 or some military vehicles it showed me some car wracks,
Now big deal I thought and stopped the game, made sire all mods were there, dis-enabled them again and started the game again. No luck. I also tried to start a complete new GFN session, but it did not help.
It seems like the "autosave" in PZ saved the game without some of my mods when I exited the game. As GFN does not support to download or upload game saves there is no chance I could fix this by simply editing the game save.

So I turned to my last resort and started PZ on my mac in hope to use the game save from GFN via steam. But it seems like PZ does not use a real cloud game save as other games. In other words your game saves cannot be accessed outside of GFN, regardless if you use steam.

I have also tried to use the save game options to enable the mods again, but it does not help. The already spanned vehicles stay as car wracks. Once the game save is ruined it stays like that. Of course it would help of there would be an option in PZ to save/load games.

Well if you sell the mac you can buy a top spec gaming pc and play whatever you want with some change left over for snacks :emofdr:

UnIronically this! Macs are so overpriced that you can sell them, buy a very good Laptop with either Windows or Linux and have some spare money left over.

And then you don't have to be a corporate slave using stuff like Geforce Now, paying a subscription fee to a company to play games, which in the end you get nothing permanent back.

That's because Apple and Nvida like their sheep :3 or we should call them milk cow?

I am not sure what drives those answers, pure jealousy or ignorance ?
There is a simple reason why I use Apple and GFN. When all those Windows fanboys spent $1500-$2000 on a new "gaming" PC every year or two, not to mention the costs for the latest graphic cards, I save a lot of money. In those days you should also calculate the power consumption of your 1000W "gaming" PC.
With Apple I can get a slick Mac Book Air for less than $1000, that works fine for at least 5 years. A Mac mini for less than $600 with the same life span. actually I still have a Mac book from 2005 that got an SSD and a mem upgrade and still works fine.
With my founders account I pay less than $80 for GFN per year. I can play all games I want, usually they work flawless. I can also play them on my iPad or my TV.
Oh, forgot about the power bill. a Mac mini consumes max 100W. And playing on GFN it is almost idle.

So if you got math in school then tell me who is the idiot here. The one that pays $1000 for a mac mini and 5 years of GFN or play games, or the one that pays $4000-$6000 for HW in the same time span and has a 10 times higher power bill as well?

But hey, you are no sheep right? You don´t pay all this money to Intel, AMD, NVidia and all the countless companies like ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte etc. because you never did the math yourself. You are proud to pay, right? Even when Nvidia sells you a new Graphics card for more $$ with less performance than the last years model.

And the world is changing. Everybody seems to move to ARM. Microsoft would have better teamed up with Apple instead of giving exclusive rights to Qualcomm. Every cloud is currently dropping x86 in favor of ARM to save power. And Apple demonstrated over and over again that ARM based M Chips are so fast it can emulate x86 with no noticeable performance drop.

I built my PC for under 700 bucks. I promise you it will defeat anything you described, and it's still going strong 6 years on. Everything you described is mid-tier product that's really only good for applications and not gaming.

I don't update my PC's or tablets every two years like you're saying. LOL, 100 watts

Sounds like you have it all figured out then. Good luck.

maybe dont use second rate os or second rate gpu brand next time
the mac products themselves are fine, well-built and well-designed. however, what you experienced is why you don't use mac silicon for games.

for everyday and productivity, hell yea boy

but ultimately, it's up to the devs whether they think theres a sizable market for mac silicon enough to support it. or if the framework/engine they use even supports it.

Could play it just fine on Linux too, then you're not giving Windows your data and account information with all their embedded spyware.

dont worry if you were al that interesting your fbi agent would already be able to look up everything about you

Its because GFN is relatively new technology and will take time to find its way. I am excited but also sad that its here, it will completely change the gaming landscape for the worse. It is no secret that PC's are being phased out aggressively but what we get served up in its place will never measure up to having your own system.

Not using Windows is your issue, not GeForce.
