can I change game-mode midgame?
started with apocalypse but zombie respawns are annoying, is there any way to change the apocalypse to sandbox and lower the respawn ?

In multiplayer you can always do it when you open it again, but in singleplayer you will have to replace the sandbox option file and the other one. Don't know much more.

Without mods you cannot. Start over in a sandbox world, suffer in your current world or use a mod. Obviously, some changes might need time to take full effect.
