Since I mostly spawn at either Rosewood with the intention to cross the map to somewhere for a 'permanent base' or I spawn at Westpoint coz "hehe haha, zombies go brrr"
I just forget Riverside exists and never go or spawn there.
Edit: Rosewood FTW!
Rosewood has a LOT more zombies in it, mostly I think courtesy of the nearby prison. On the higher population difficulties you can end up fighting thousands of zeds in and around Rosewood.
Riverside, by contrast, has the least amount of zombies of any decently sized town on the map. It's a great place to spawn in for newer players or those looking for something a little less intense, or alternatively, a destination for a character who's out on the road, looking for somewhere to base up.
I do like to spawn in Rosewood at times for all sorts of reasons like starting from the left side of the map making my way to the right. But other than those specific reasons Riverside has more.
I'd rank it like this honestly: Riverside>Muldraugh>West Point>Rosewood. I have West Point above Rosewood for the simple fact it has some amazing loot and once you know your way around the game it's a better choice. I have Mul above West Point because the town is spread out, easier to navigate around zombies, has decent loot and McCoys, less zeds. Riverside at the top for obvious reasons, it's the perfect beginner location.
Overall compared to the rest of the towns Rosewood doesn't have much to offer once you get better at the game and such.
Really? Riverside felt like the better loot location IME.
Three concentrated book locations instead of two (Riverside has Post Office + school + bookstore while Rosewood only has the last two), and three concentrated sources of industrial loot (Factory, Hardware Store and Storage Units) while Rosewood only has garages as a source of industrial loot.
Also Riverside has homes with fireplaces, while Rosewood does not.
