Climbing Ladders?

I have made my way to a hunting cabin in the woods which has a ladder leading up to it.
How do I climb ladders? Google isnt being very helpful on this one.

I dont think you can as of yet.

My friend found a building with a fire escape ladder and he couldnt access it either... i would think it would be right click or Tap E like withwindows or doors \ interaction menu.

if a modder can made possible ( not me im total loser of those things) do copy animations from climming rope to put on ladder to able to climb on ladders? its just idea

Build a staircase when you have leveled up carpentry, then very carefully go up on the roof and build a wall frame, then a wall with a window and attach a sheet rope, then knock down the stairs. I use that to setup walkways between buildings so that I can escape if a horde shows up.

Remember to build wall frames around every window or you will walk right off the roof. Happens to me a lot.

I don't see the point of ladders at this time, if I can climb a sheet rope made from clothing pulled off a dead zombie and climb the rope while exhausted from carrying a video game machine or a generator, a ladder is just using more resources for the same thing. Plus the ladders would probably be easier to knock down.

I would like to see them if you can build them at an earlier level than the stairs and use them to get on tops of building, like in the one day to prepare senario.

Despite this post being old...it's still relevent. The point in being able to climb the ladder in this case is, you cannot access the hunting platform without building stairs yet...it already has a ladder.

Huh, hadn't seen the hunting platform, the only ladders I saw were on the roadside billboards, and climbing them looked like a really bad idea.

Definitely needs to be a place-able object that can get you onto roofs...but there are already a lot of exploits (Carpentry wise) that would make it impossible for now. Unless they figure out a weight system for second story floors (and beyond) to make sure people don't just bloody make a wood floor tile then place stepladder.

I swear, Carpenters are gods in this bloody game.
