Location of Save Files

I'm interested in seeing the code for the save for my character and perhaps messing around with it. Does anyone know where it is?

Okay, well I'm stupid and can't find it still. Is it in a folder within the PZ folder in Steam Apps?

I'm just a peasant at the moment that is saving to join the master race, so I have no idea about where to find such things in the folders in this game.

I'm in the Zomboid folder but I can't find the saves in that folder. I've browsed through a couple of folders in search of them but only found things for zombies and other assorted stuff.

I have a further question. In the "Zomboid" folder save files. Can I add my own file with my own name for a save and use that name for a new game?

Alternative, copy and paste %username% into a folder's address bar and hit enter. It should take you there.

There you should see a zomboid folder.

You can just start a new game, which will create a new folder for all the associated files, and rename this folder - the game doesn't care how its named. Also can create a new directory in Saves folder for your own directories.
