Sound issues (Logitech G930 surround sound)
Greetings! Let me just get right down to the point, whenever I play the game with my headset on, it sounds fine... at first. Once I start moving my character the sounds cuts out and then back in every step. At first I thought this was just because the game didn't fully support surround sound, so I flicked it off.
Then I ran into a completely new problem, with surround sound off I didn't get the strange audio cut-outs while moving, rather, some things wouldn't make any sound at all. Footsteps, doors, some cabinets, and a few other things stopped making any noise whatsoever. Normally I would just unplug my headset and use my speakers, but I was planning on playing with some friends online, which would mean I would need it plugged in so I could talk to them.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

I have the same issues as described in the OP. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the Logitech software, as Enigma said, since I sometimes have similar things like static etc. on other games aswell.

I'd really appreciate if you could look into this, Enigma, since you also have a pair of G35's and they use the same software as G930.

For the sake of troubleshooting it would be great if you could install the software and see if you can find the reason, since I myself tried a lot of different things (including messing with the sound settings in the software) to no avail.

Another interesting lead I have is that these issues started when surround sound was originally introduced in one of the PZ builds.

I remember I never had these issues with previous builds, I'm not sure which one added surround sound though. I just remember reading it in one of the changelogs and since then I had the problems.

Turning off the surround sound switch works for me, needs to be done in some games like this and FTL, as there really isnt a need for surround in them and it sounds like it pops and cuts out with it on. I have a g930.

I decided to uninstall the drivers for my G35 a year ago and I frankly haven't looked back. Logitech's way of handling the "forced" Surround is just downright embarrasing.

Trust me - You're much better off downgrading these headphones to stereo and forgetting all about the emulated surround. (Not LGS, just the driver in device manager)

When I turn surround sound off, everything sounds dulled and low quality. Project Zomboid itself is even worse, as in when surround sound is off I can't hear certain things like opening a door or hitting a zombie. I think it may be the software as well, but if I turn off the software surround sound doesn't work properly and I can't turn off that stupid sidetone effect.

It's entirely the LGS software (and your ears getting used to stereo again)

Something wrong with your headsets or software, my g930 work great in either mode with latest version of the software. I can hear everything fine in the stereo mode for this game since it does cause the popping when i move in surround, only this game and few others do that though.
