When you kill another player in multiplayer, can you steal all of their loot?
Sorry, I'm new to this game. I just got killed by someone who I was trying to help (because I paused my game to go to the bathroom and I thought I was being invincible instead of logging out) and they thought it was funny to kill me and steal my weapon. I had a camping bag full of medicine and want to know if they stole that too from me. Last time i'm playing with PVP on. :(

Yes you can.
and they probably diddnt think it was funny, they probably needed the loot.
I only kill for three reasons. 1) if they are murdering others 2) if they are attempting to kill me. or 3) if I am on the brink of death and somebody has what I need.

Pro Tip also: Never go AFK with PvP on, and never go AFK unless you are in your base, with tons of people that you trust COMPLETELY.

Welcome to the game, also :)

You can be killed with PVP turned off as well.

The other player can go PVP and you will see a skull hover near them. This is your 1 second warning! In that one second, you can attack the person entering PVP mode and they cannot hurt you.

I have had a bunch of a**-hats in multi-player mode. One guy, I rushed to his aide, fixed his broken leg, even gave him a full jar of my rare peanut butter to help him out. Next thing I know, BAM! Shot in the back of the head.

On another game, I was exploring, I guess I got to close to somebodies base, and they chased after me. They could run faster and they eventually caught up to me and shot me in the back. Another a**-hat.

Its rare that I find any decent people on multi-player games.

Thanks for replying and for sharing your experiences with crappy players. I was worried that if I left from the server, I would lose my character but I really had to go to the bathroom IRL and thought I could trust that person since he taught me to press T to chat in the game and break doors with my hammer for wood. I didn't even know what PVP meant until that happened (the person who killed me lied to me and said that it meant Peace versus Peace when someone mentioned PVP and would tell other players in the chat window to shush about how I died.) I know it's just a game and it was partly my fault for not knowing how to play, but I was just really angry at that person at the moment. He was unarmed when I met him, I had to take items out of my bags because I couldn't run with him because I was too heavy and he took my frying pan and I said ''brb'' to him and paused the game and before I left for the bathroom I saw him swing that frying pan at me and I didn't think that it was possible for one player to kill another player and that he was only fooling around while he waited for me so I didn't do anything about it. Oh well, it's just a game, I just wanted to let go off steam and move on with my life. Thanks for welcoming me to the game!

Unless I am playing with 'known' friends, I don't play in multi-player anymore. After those experiences, I avoid most players. I did find one group that was decent. I helped them build a base, went looting with them, it was fun. But that seems to be rare...

Oh, that guy that hunted me down after I saw his base? When I created a new player and logged back on, this person was on global chat, trash talking about me, saying I was robbing his place. I quickly posted what really happened and said 'I am coming for you now!' I logged on a few days later and with sledgehammer in my possession, I started destroying parts of the base when nobody was there. Sometimes you can get a little revenge.

Naming and shaming another player is not only against Steam's rules, but it would be nearly impossible to catch him as he could just simply, change his username.
Calust May 24, 2015 @ 7:45pm
Sorry, I didn't know that I wasn't allowed to give out his username so I removed it. I don't think that there is any way for me to block this person's account so I don't have to cross paths with him again in the game?

I would probably fail at any attempt for revenge but I want to so badly because he took advantage of me and was too much of a coward to fight me and truly earn that loot and then afterwards he took me for an idiot and lied to me that he didn't kill me and that I died because I was bitten by a zombie when all of the zombies were already killed.

Being a fan of the Walking Dead show, I enjoy this game but I wish multiplayer mode had zombies because they all seem to have already been killed, single player mode is kind of lonely and you have no one to share your ''accomplishments'' with. It also would be cool if you could play as a zombie.

Playing as a zombie was already a confirmed no.
If you want zombies.
head on up to the mall.
enjoy yourself.
a lot of servers use zombie respawn also.
No you cannot block their account, as you can just make a new one by entering a new username and password. (cannot be used to avoid bans as you can be issued an IP ban, banning your router as a whole)

let me put the zombie counts at the mall into perspective

and thats after it has been cleaned out a bit.

Most popular servers, you never see a zombie, or rarely do. And that is with zed spawns. I started in downtown West Point, ran all the way to the mall, looted the mall and then headed up to the shooting range before I saw my first zombie.
In multi-player, when there are hundreds of players, its not much of a zombie game.
