randomly indoor spawning zombies?
hello, ive been playing PZ for a couple months now. as of just today, ive had zombies randomly spawn inside my safehouse. i have a large warehouse in muldraugh with all the ground level doors and windows fully barricaded. ill wake up and then all of a sudden theres one there.

after i kill it, i go down and check the windows and doors. theyre untouched. anyone else having a similar thing happen to them?

this is why the survival guides tend to say that nowhere is safe. sometimes a zombie will show up where you least expect it. pretend you found the one zombie that figured out how to climb sheet ropes or something, and by killing it you stopped the evolution of the horde.

ugh, thats slightly annoying. whats the point of barricading a safehouse if theyre just going to randomly generate inside of it.

Any security professional will tell you there is no such thing as 100% security. It doesn't exist in real life. You barricade to deal with the threats you understand and can affect, such as a zombie breaking through a window, but there are other threats. There are threats we can imagine, such as the chance a cessna pilot will find a stowaway zombie aboard his plane in mid-flight and kick the zed out the door while he is flying over your home. We don't know what the chance of things like that happening is, only that it is not 0. These are "Known Uknowns." There are also threats we can't even imagine ahead of time or "Uknown Unknowns" as Donald Rumsfeld called them.

As long as spawning inside your compound is rare, I'd say the game is spot on for being realistic. Maybe there is a loose sewer grate you hadn't noticed inside your warehouse and they're getting in through there. The zombie apocalypse is SUPPOSED to be "slightly annoying."

You take all your time and effort and set up a wonderful safehouse only to find that it isn't as safe a spot as you had hoped. Sounds like something straight out of The Walking Dead!

i know the apocalypse is supposed to be a bummer. Just been playing a few months and never saw a zed spawn indoors. i guess i was getting too comfortable, should always be on guard.

im convinced that zombies have learned to climb my sheet rope. ive pulled the sheet ropes when i dont need them or im indoors for the night.

A area big as a large warehouse could cause this because the processing zone is more forces on the player screen(outside=event zone).
And since none of the entry were break, plus only one zombie, it's more like some sort of bug thing, like over flowed spawn or so.:summerghost:

This is the reason I stopped playing this game back before it was on steam. Every time I set up a safe house after a half day or day the place would just magically spawn zombies everywhere inside. It was such a stupid mechanic to make a person move house I just quit playing. Maybe I should take another look since it sounds like it isn't as prevalent now.

Every time, eh? I've never seen it. I've put in about 4 months divided between 4 toons so far, and never seen it once. And spawning every day, that is nuts!

I've been using very small homes for my safehouses. Smaller is better in my mind, and I like to start with basically a Panic Room (and yes, I am claustrophic, but that has nothing to do with it) and then thoroughly clear the neighborhood. Maybe if I ever live long enough to finish my wall, they'll spawn inside the walls, but I've never seen them spawn inside my house.

Like I said it happened when the game was only on Desura so it was a much earlier build. I'm happy to give it another go though. I put an hour into it earlier today and it seems a lot better than last time i looked at it.

Hm, the respawn system Robert has in place shouldn't allow this if you built some barricades in the area. Player made structures are supposed to prevent spawning around them.
