How do I modify guns?

Finally got into the gun store and I'm at a loss on how to put some of the things like the sling and the ammo strap on the guns I have. I've tried right clicking, dragging them onto each other, no clue! Help?

I have never done it, but I know you need a screwdriver, and maybe screws as well.

Yes, you need a screwdriver and a box or screws to put parts onto guns, not sue, i almst never use guns

Yes, you need a screwdriver + the gun in question + all the parts you're going to add, all in your inventory. Screws are not needed (at least not now). Then you right click the gun and choose Upgrade.
