Paint

I've found the odd can of paint here and there, but can't figure how to use it (maybe I need a brush, I've never found one).

What I'd really like to do is mark the houses that I've looted ..

.. you know, paint a red X on the door or something ..
.. or, without a map, I'd like to be able to paint arrows or walls or the road like "shops are this way, beware heaps of zombies" (in tone it looks like warnings to others, but actually its just to keep my head straight on the huge map)

Can you do this kind of thing now ?

I've heard you can paint on walls (you do need a paint brush) but you can also build a sign and paint a sign on it. But you do need a paint brush. What I do is just leave the door open to show I've been there, or (if on a server) throw all the rotten food in front of the door.

That's a great suggestion piling gross food out front .. I also started doing that with zombie corpses but too much work :/
