How do I attach parts to a gun?

Found a couple hunting rifles at a shooting range and some parts. I heard I need a screwdriver. Does it have to just be in the inventory? Then what?

Then I believe you use the crafting system. Though I'm not entirely sure of what goes where.

Trial and error is the best way to learn.

You need a screwdiver in your main inventory then you right click the gun

At the Shooting Range. On the counter and in the lockers there were a couple hunting knives, a shotgun and at least one (maybe two, I don't remember) hunting rifle, a varmint rifle + some ammo and a few parts. They use different bullets and also respond differently to skills.
