How close to Real Life is the world of PZ?
I've been following Project Zomboid for a while now, and was a little curious, How close to the real word suburbs of Knox County have the developers mirrored the in game world? I've compared google maps to in-game environments, and several locations, such as the race-track and train yard, are in the accurate spots relative to Muldraugh and West Point.

My question is, How accurate did the devs get when modeling the homes and businesses of each town? was the in game world simply modeled off of street maps and property information, or did the dev team visit the surrounding neighborhoods in person?

All I can say is, I'm happy that the developers are expanding the game world to encompass louisville proper, Regardless of how long it takes, I'm secure in my belief that it will be one of the most extensive and detailed worlds I've ever played, and cant wait for louisville or even fort knox to become accessible.

From what I've seen it's more of a google map overview. The major roads and things are there and general zoning is the same. For example, I'm pretty sure the Mall and the Cineplex aren't in that place in real life (but I could be wrong). Of course the names of shops and stuff are made up because of copyright laws.

One thing that should be noted is that the PZ world is actually set in the 90s and not in 2015. That allows them some artistic liscense on how they model the towns.

I live in Louisville and so I CAN NOT wait for Louisville to be added. Plus I love cities and I just love the idea of massive-wall-of-death-zombie hordes. Once they start adding louisville locations, I'll let you know how close to real life they are.

Yeah, I did a double check, and the west point mall+cineplex are 100% artistic license. other than that though, most everything else is spot on. Homes and businesses are zoned in the right areas, and even small local landmarks, Like gas stations or the Knob Creek gun range, are located relative to eachother.

Yeah. Forgot about Knob Creek Gun range. That place is legit. We get advertisements about it all the time in Ky

Is Louisville the big urban city they're going to add?

Correct. Apprently they already are working on the outskirts of Louisville which is pretty dense as it is but have plans to go all the way into midcity. I heard one of the Devs talk about adding sewage networks and the ability to jump rooftop to rooftop once downtown louisville becomes a place to explore because the density of zombies will be insane.

PZ has no official era. it can definatly be interpreted as 90s though.
