Any way to remove wooden walls?
I'm thinking about building a gated farm by my base, though my carpentry is only level 1. If I build it now, will I be able to destroy/upgrade the low level walls when I get to a higher level?

Yes, with the sledgehammer.

I think you can just build over them too, but you will still need ALL them materials.

Also you don't need a sledgehammer for self-build walls. Just hit them long enough and they will go down too.

If you sledgehammer it, you get nothing back.

If you use an axe (preferably the foraged one since those are easily replaced), you get back planks and nails.

hitting them with pretty much anything will destroy them eventually , although an axe or sledgehammer works best

True but while you're doing all that hitting with everything else, you're also making a ton of noise and drawing the attention of anything still moving. It's also draining away the stamina remaining on a potentially good weapon.

Though now you've made me curious about if I can use a fork or spoon to tear down wooden walls...

The sledgehammer does 'not' get damaged if you 'right-click' and go to the 'destroy' menu option. You can smash all day long and never damage the sledgehammer doing it this way.

You also get none of the materials back from destroying walls/etc this way.

Yeah, you said that. But I don't really care that much, my axes are too valuable. ;)
