Possible to change MUSIC in private server for all to hear?
Now I figured out how to add sounds/music to the files by converting things to an .ogg file but is it possible to change an entire private servers music? I think the music is quite good on PZ but I am look to add a bit more dread and hopelessness to it by introducing some more ambient music.

I think it should be possible since we all hear the same woman screaming or gun shot at the same time. The music is always matching. So I would be grateful if someone can confirm or deny if this is possible and also please aid me in my endeavours. :)

I'm fairly sure your sound files are on a completely client side, so unless they do the same as you, I don't beleive they'll be able to hear it.

You may be able to do it via some kind of LUA script. You can script this into games like arma etc so it may be possible.

You could make and enforce a music mod on your server so that everyone has the music (client-side).

For ideas on how to replace the music entirely, take a look at the Silent Music mod.

If you want to add in additional music, you'll have to include the OGG files and add a modified version of \media\lua\client\Music\MusicChoices.lua to your mod so that it fires off properly.

OK, lets assume for a second I dont know how to make a mod lol. Im very surprised there isnt already a mod out there to allow for this.

Unless somebody already knows of one??

If you're replacing the music directly, download the Silent Music mod, replace the OGG files in it and edit the mod.info file with a text editor to your own information. Remember to remove any files that aren't yours and then drop it \Zomboid\mods\

There's also an "Example mod" folder in there to show you how it's supposed to look.
