Eggs and Cooking
Hey guys, I have some questions about those things.
1 - I can't cook eggs, I need something to cook them or it's not in the oven that I cook it?
2 - Cooking level up when I'm cooking in the oven?
3 - I'm trying to cook stew and soup sometimes but when i add ingredients the boredom and unhappines decrease, anyone have a tutorial or some kind of instructions to avoid that or perhaps giving a bonus?
4 - I tried to use Pepper as spice on my stew and soups but it seem's that it doesn't have any effect on the properties of the food, the spices are not working or it has some effects that don't have any feedback yet?

1. Use a frying pan and make an Egg, Red Pepper and Cheeze n BACON stur fry with Tomatos and salt and pepper Mmm MM! CX

2. Yes you get exp. when the food finishes cooking.

3. When your preparing the food theres a boredum and unhappines debuff, IF you eat it with out cooking, Cook it and the values should be in the green.

4. Hm yeah i noticed that as well :/ maybe a bug?

About the number 3. I always cook it and the stats keep red. For example, i cooked one stew with Mutton + Broccoli + Eggplant + Onion + Mutton + Mutton and spiced it with Pepper (no changes in anything with the Pepper), the result before cooked is: -116 hunger, +34 Boredom and Unhappines.

Maybe it's working as intended but some food things seem a bit strange.

When I make a sandwich with peanut butter I can add it 3x and the effect stays positive, but when I add more it drops in the red. Maybe too much of the same ingredient makes the food dull to eat.

Hmm, perhaps, i noticed that too when i added the last two muttons and when i put too many vegetables.

If you add more than one of the same ingredient the food becomes boring and doesn't have the same effect. Always try and keep a small stash of salt and pepper, and don't use the same meat/veg twice or more in a recipe. If you don't have enough ingredients than go ahead and cook it as is, better than having to waste double the time eating and then reading a book or something to fix the effects of a boring "Triple Mutton and Egg" Sandwich. It makes sense, in a weird way.

Hmm, why should a save salt and pepper? I didn't noticed any effects in the food.

Salt and Pepper keep the food from adding unhappiness and boredom, and i think they increase how much hunger the meal satisfies. It won't let you be able to make stuff out of just two ingredients but it helps.

I'm pretty sure to much of a single ingredient will cause the Happy/Board stats to go into the red. And maybe the fact you put egg plant in it THAT'S probably why. BLEHG >:P

While it had only mutton, broccoli, eggplant and onion it had green stats only. When i added the second mutton it went down.

so is there really no way to cook the egg on its own? cant you make egg salad? i feel like you used to be able to... i just tried to boil an agg in the cook pot, but it didnt give me the option.

Yes, you can cook the egg by itself. Using too many of the same ingredients in a recipe will increase boredom and unhappiness. Also, putting too many ingredients into a recipe will also increse boredom and unhappiness. Stick with 3-4 ingredients and you will always be good. 5 or more and it starts to get worse. There is no recipe for hardboiled eggs, you have to cook them in a frying pan.

As to eating cooked things giving you boredom, i think a dev/mod indicated / may have suggested in another thread that it has something to do with your cooking skill. I haven't got out of 0 yet as i just chew raw cabbage and carrot (which doesn't give a debuff) but maybe its that if you're too low, you're making the food but it's really bland or unattractive, and then later down the line you're making serious hoagie sandwiches with toothpicks and cellophane skewered through an olive style stuff?

There may also have something to do with ingredient amount and what not. Like a dish full of mutton vs 1 chop giving more 'bored/unhappy'. I'd love a plate full of meat personally, but maybe it's that the character requires more variety?

Yes, cooking skill does affect your modifiers. More importantly, it affects WHAT you can cook. Certain recipes are locked out until you get your skill up to a certain point.

i think it also allows you to use more ingrediants at a time too. during the early days glut of perishible food everywhere, i have often gone a little overboard with the cooking, trying to up the stat for when it will matter later on, and sometimes i have had food start out with really good stats, and have them decrease if i put too much in... keep it simple, 3-4 ingredients. this seems to work the best. ill admit i havnt gotten my cooking up very far sinse the new builds came out, so i dont know much about what you can do with a higher skill.
