42.5.1 UNSTABLE Released
42.5.1 UNSTABLE Hotfix Release:

- Slight fixes to zombie heat map. Some remote locations had too many. (Zombie heat map is always a work in progress and will be continually refined through many patches)
- Added missing tiles for Stendo's Firearms Emporium, including the all important sign.
- Characters with Smoker will now cough once in 12-35 hours.

Nice update pace, appreciate it.

Small question in case TIS reads me: Are there plans to resume Thursdoids this month/soon? It's march and i haven't seen one since november last year. Would be nice to just have an in on the broader direction you guys are heading towards, challenges met and so fourth.

I'm trying the new patch and I noticed that there seem to be performance problems now when it rains. The game kind of freezes, I get like 1 FPS. Standing in the trailerpark in Riverside. Even the ESC-Menu screen is lagging like it is rendering 1 frame per second.

Now that the game resumed, I see another funny bug. All objects except the terrain periodically, like in a 2 seconds interval, disappear and then reappear. Really weird and never happened before today's patch.

Actually it has changed again now, my character and most other objects have disappeared, but the framerate has normalized. See screenshot. https://imgur.com/a/pfoOHv2

I hope the problem can be identified and fixed because right now it is not playable. Please let me know if I can provide more helpful information.

My system:
Win 10 64 bit
5900x
3080
64 GB Ram

Edit: Added another image that shows how it looks after I quit to main menu and then continued.

Edit 2: I'm running the proximity inventory mod, no other mods though.
Edit 3: After exiting the game and restarting it, the issue is gone. It works normally with or without the proximity inventory mod. I'm not sure how to reproduce the problem. I cannot reproduce it by enabling a storm, so this might be caused by something else or that mod.

do i need to make new save to have the map improvements? or can i update my save world?
So, you guys have any rough ETA you're comfortable with regarding the release of Update 42 to the stable branch?
unexpected error...save games cannot be loaded & game shuts down same for me:steamthis:
I have a save from a previous version and my character is a smoker. Today I loaded my save and found that she is coughing, although there is no moodlet that tells me that she is sick. It has been raining a lot recently and there are a lot of rotting corpses in the city center, so she could indeed be sick, but after reading this log, I have doubts. How can I check her condition to be sure whether this is a bug or not?
I went to the new Stendo gun store in West Point, dissappointed to see that there's no custom sign outside. :( Just a bland white building.
yea, have the same problems
Stendo's... Dead? Now that's just sad to hear.

I'll second this. I'd assume it's already on the to-do list since TIS named it after him. Let's be patient with this one, it deserves close attention and time.
The loot in there is incredible, and I know I'll enjoy visiting it once it gets a little touch-up. Maybe even put some VFE easter eggs in there. Posters or something? :')

(Also it doesn't show up on the minimap either, but again - that's probably already on the to-do list.)
I want to play the beta and perhaps even help with finding bugs, but I'm overwhelmed by the new options, and what to take, and what to leave, and where to go, and what I need.

I'm a packrat, and terrible at deciding what to leave behind, even temporarily. Also relatively new to the game. Last time I started a game, I found a chicken farm, and then didn't dare play on, worried that all the chickens would starve if I didn't tend them properly.

All I can do is tweak the sandbox settings before making a new world, to make things very noob friendly (more in regards to zombies than loot). I like crafting and building, and hoarding. Not so much fighting. :)

What do I do? :) Any suggestions from more experienced players?

(Btw, I don't want to use mods in the beta.)
how do I create a mortar and pestle?
i can't find a recipe
new update completely killed my save( just a black screen after a completed load

First thing I do and did every time there is a new update is back up my current game save folder, Then I check integrity of game files in PZ steam options, after loading in the game I turn off any mods I believe might have a conflict with the new update, today I disabled better fps because it changes one of the main files in PZ game directory. I then will keep all other mods enabled ( 30 mods ) and load my save I will then do some tests with the oldest mods that havent been updated in a while and see If I get any errors, so far out of all the tests I've done I have had no errors.
