NO MODS - Can't craft brain tan 42.4.1
The ingredients are there, bowl, brain, light.
Except when i try to pick quantity it's stuck at 0.
Therefore i'm stuck at 0 brain tan.

Just to make it clear as day, i'm not using any mods. Fresh install.
I can replicate this in new saves all day.

It did. It was filled with clean water.

What exactly is Brain Tan used for?

Tanning.

Also, it seems that you need a second container with water. We used two bowls, and it worked.

I got it to work for me after alot of frustration.
I hade the bowl(with water) and the brain in my inventory, and even tho I could not make the Brain Tan via the craft menu thingy, I right-clicked the bowl in the inventory and could chose "Make Brain Tan" from the drop down menu.
Hope it works for you too.
