It took many months for B41 to get Multiplayer so it'll take Months for B42 to get it
If you don't find an official announcement that online multiplayer has been enabled in B42 Unstable, then it has not happened yet. The Indie Stone does not do special secret squirrel leaks of ETAs to us, ever.
If we don't know then the devs haven't made an official announcement.
Official announcements are often found at one or more of the following sources:
There is also the official Discord, Reddit, X/Twitter, and the rest. You can find links to these on projectzomboid.com in the upper-right corner of that web page.
Only reason I got this game was cause of the MP.
SO maybe some people can help me with a question - can I refund the game with 400h played? Or roll it back to 41, so out friend group could play again?
400 hour refund? The laughter at Steam Support would probably be heard from kilometers away.
B41 Stable is still the default version of Project Zomboid.
Simply stop using the Beta opt-in that you enabled to participate in the public beta-test of B42 Unstable. Once you have opted-out of the Beta, you will be able to start a new save in B41 Stable. You will also be able to join one of the many B41 Stable multiplayer servers that are still operational.
Possibly that they missed some piece of news, aren't invested in every bit of information that comes out on the game, don't know if steam is the only place that news on updates is released. Can't possibly imagine how 2 working brain cells wouldn't come up with at least a few answers to that
