Tree chopping durability 42.4.2
Latest build has made the average number of tree's capable of being chopped down by hatchets to 2-5 tree's on average with 4 maintenance.

1-4 sometimes 0 with a stone axe, noticed while playing on my experimental CDDA save to many tears

Yet to count the number of tree's with the standard axe as I don't want to cheat on this save but anyone willing to check would be appreciated

2-5 sounds a lot. I've tried crude stone axe, large stone axe, and bone hatchet, all of them can only cut down 1 large tree before breaking.

Could be the maintenance skill at play. At 0 I can't cut any down with the primitive alternatives

Pretty sure it's not. I tried with level 10 maintenance, and still the same thing. The only axe types that show decent amount durability are wood axe, fire axe, and regular axe. They can chop down dozens of trees before breaking.

Stone and bone axes break down after 1.5 fully grown trees. Hatchets and hand axes break down after 2-3 fully grown trees. Scrap metal cleavers also after 2-3 trees. Large stone axes are the surprising outlier as they last longer with 5-ish trees.

This is just a matter of terrible balancing.
