Bowl of cereal

Took me forever to figure out how to make a bowl of cereal in Build 42. The liquid transfer system is...weird and not very intuitive.

Are there other recipes that I need to use the liquid transfer system for? Cooking is a lot more difficult to wrap my head around in this version and I'm feeling like I'm going to waste a lot of food to spoilage because I don't know how to use the menu to cook with it.

i believe it is still half way between systems. You can make oatmeal with water in a bowl, but it currently consumes the entire package of oatmeal for one bowl. Soups and Stews are still made with pot of water using the right click menu. pancakes just require water to be nearby in a container (not sink).

This makes me feel better. Ever since upgrading to Build 42 I've felt like a bit of an idiot when I'm trying to do simple things.

I feel your pain, MrSnuggle. Just started today again, first time on b42. Took me almost an hour to find out how to butcher a rat. "need surface". *Facepalm*
Also.. I'm badly miss the right click craft menu.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree. My character was hungry and I thought, "I know, a bowl of cereal before bed should be easy enough." How wrong those words were. What should of taken me a couple of minutes to gather everything turned into a frustrating foray into the absurd that took a better of an in game hour. *sigh*

I love the mental image of this hard-boiled badass survivor standing in front of a kitchen counter late at night. He's killed thousands of zombies, built a house from scratch, carved out his own little slice of civilization from nothing. He has a bowl, cereal box and milk in front of him staring in bewilderment at what to do next.

"need weapon" in red trying to kill a critter (sheep iirc), while literally carrying an arsenal of melee and firearms with me. Thought to myself "sure i can kill the damn thing with a bullet in the head, right?" ... 3 9mm clips later i just committed suicide by sheep. Because i had offended the sheep gods.

the new liquid system is 90% of the reason why crafting is so buggy and it's pretty impressive how broken it is considering it was one of the first things they showed off for b42
