How to connect light switch to ceiling lights?
I've added a new room to my house. In that room I've spawned in some ceiling lights with the debug brush tool. The lights work. I can rightclick them and turn them on and off individually. The generator is closeby enough.

I've also spawned in a light switch via the brush tool and attached it to a wall in the room. But the switch does nothing. How can I connect the light switch to the lights in the room?

I have not found a way to do that. I think it is only done with the invisible lights in a 'room' as defined in the editor map tool the developers use.

Thanks for your reply. Is that also the reason why my spawned in light switch doesn't do anything? No 'invisible' lights I presume, because this is a self built room?

Yes.

Even if you were to pick up a light switch with the pick up tool, you cannot connect it to any lights.

Also, be aware that using the debug icon tool to place objects that it is not the same as using the pickup and place tool. I can infinitely pickup a brush placed floor and the brush placed floor will never disappear and you can pickup as many of that floor as you want.

Yes, I found that out too. But I can still 'destroy tile' and the tile will disappear. Using the brush tool is cheating of course, but if you're into base building it's a great tool for creativity. I love it!
