How do you find your corpse in project zomboid?

I just got back on project zomboid after a short break and remembered I had died right before i took the break and I can't remember where. Is there any way to track down your corpse?

Use you re memory and sure you can find the place where you dead the problem you re old body is now a zombie and he move!!!! no way but i tell you dead bodi is now a zombie and trust me more you take time more you re old bodie can take the wild a forget fall again on it!!! sorry for my english

The game features no sort of mechanic or anything to help you keep track of where you died. To do so, you either try to remember as best as you can, or MAYBE there is a mod that does it for you.

lol i did that once , died by some body of water near lv and forgot where and when i made it back there i couldnt find it so i just yelled at the clouds pressing q until i found myself

There are hundreds of player zombies in my server save. I love finding all the player bodies wandering around the world. it is a super fun quest for me.

lmao i lost my body in tall grass once too , also can our corpses crawl? that would be so funny to just see our dumb little selves caterpillaring away off into the sunset

If your corpse actually got up and is now a zombo then you can at least still retrieve their items. If not then it will decompose like any other zombo.

Funny enough tho, I've lost a couple of guys to non-zombo means that didn't turn after death and their bodies have YET to decompose after several in-game months.

as time goes on in my server, old player zombies just poof when the hit the ground on death. you know you found a player zombie when it poofs away. and true too, that also as time goes on the players that died naturally (from no zombie sick) will remain on the ground forever. (edit: 6 in game years later and still some player bodies lie there)

Funny. Thinking of it, I never lost my corpses. There is a mod which could help you with that.

just gotta go find it. but for next time if you only get infected and not killed outright, you can lock yourself in a room or building and await deaths embrace. Then go find that room with your new character.

I haven’t been ripped to shreds in a long time. Usually it ends up a scratch or bite, and once I know it’s all downhill from here, I just go to my base and dump off all my stuff and run outside naked in a blaze of glory.

There has been a few times that I surprised myself at just how long I survived being naked and just shoving zombies with my bare hands. 😂
