Hello I searched how to level up carpentry and everywhere says dissasemble furniture but this is not giving me points. Even dissaesmbling street benches, doors, nothing.

For the first level you have videotapes. Later you can build walls, floor, all give good XP.

Disassembling works in build 41. In build 42, unless you enable it in sandbox, disassembling does nothing. You have to build things. Barricade windows, build fences, walls, etc. That will give you XP.

You can also watch the Life & Living channel at 12:00 to gain Carpentry XP, at least up until Level 3 on build 42. If you read the skill books first, you get bonus XP from viewing and crafting.

sawing logs also gives carpentry exp, and you will need a lot of planks anyways

In b42, you need to craft something to get exp. I think oil press is still the best recipe to farm exp on since it only requires a plank and a single nail.

Carpentry is probably the easiest for the first week. Every day at noon for the first 7 days and again at 6pm on day 8, there is a woodworking show on TV. Even without a skillbook, if you catch all 8 episodes, you'll be near Carpentry 3 without having to saw a single plank or nail a single barricade.

But without the TV show, it is still very fast to level up, if you can get yourself an axe or two. Go out, chop down trees until the axes break. Either pool all the logs, branches etc. together in one place, or roam from pile to pile, and check in the crafting menu what you can do in the Carpentry section.
There's some interactions there with Carving as well, like you can saw a log into a few planks, carve the planks, saw what you carved, then carve what you sawed etc..
Only takes a handful of trees to get Carpentry 3, and from there you got basic furniture and garden appliances (like composters and water collectors) and fences and walls etc. etc. etc..

In Apocalypse setting it is off, yes. I can only speculate about the reason, but I'm guessing they felt the balancing was off when you could just dismantle the starting house and get level 3 carpentry and 2 electrical without even opening the front door...

It doesnt make sense, Building things teaches you how to build things, Unlike electrical or welding where the construction or destruction of items is less intuitive or more intensive respectively

I've been playing on sandbox, but never seen the toggle for this... Just discovered after ages of deconstructing items :/ I still can't find the button in the sandbox settings. what tab is it specifically under?
