My character, having a huge pile of broken flints, and nary a log to cut, ended up going around with a car full of ropes and choosing "remove log" from the grass floors until i filled the car and my pockets.
do you have enough inventory space to pick up flat rock? big hunker rocks, i need to strip nakey or bring a table out in the field to bust up.
That news sucks about the crude axe. It sounds like a waste of resources to even make at this point. Regarding the smooth flat stone; I have the inventory space. The character can carry up to 50 weight, I have like...7 weight on me.
the crude axe, im such a loser making them. chop chop. break. chop chop break. That is why I opted for 20 bundles of 4 logs from wandering around looking for logs.
well you can look at it this way too:
you can forage for the flint stone for axe. you are getting forage xp, becoming better survivor.
(right click flint node too? like log? but no xp and you gotta bust it up.)
You make a billion and one stone axes, maintenece xp (is it?) thus becoming a better survivor.
chopping trees gains strength xp (am i right? and maintenance ? ...well, xp anyway) making you a better survivor.
=========================
In the long run, me, getting no xp by surveying the land and right click get free log, im no better survivor, just really good at right click -> remove log, press f5 or 6...
the only thing I gain is not having to spend huge amounts of real life time grinding the make axe, chop, forage, make axe, chop.
I chose the way that seems faster to me (with a different grind) when I don't have time in real life to handle the chop chop break or have a real axe on hand.
I love the new "remove log" mechanic for when i cant spend real life slogging through low level make stone axe for tree chops.
I still make stone axes too, by the way, just not in mass quantities for quick, make a house while low level.
