Cows keep escaping enclosure
I built a large fenced off area along a river, took forever. The cows are magically ending up on the other side just wandering around. I have a zone set for them but they keep leaving. Its really frustrating having to wrangle them every day or two especially how it takes sometimes several attempts to rope the animal because it moves while you're walking to the tile it was previously standing on.

Is it fully enclosed by fences or are you using the river as part of the "enclosure"? Because I suspect if you do the latter, the animals' director might have considered the river as pathable tile.

The river is part of the enclosure. The game intends us to do this hence the "number or river tiles" label in the area manager. I don't think that's the issue, I have chickens somehow escaping from fully enclosed pens as well.

I tried using a body of water as 1 side of my pen and found out that for some reason the game makes a previously un-walkable tile of water walkable once a wooden fence was placed so my animals would keep walking around the fence. extended the fence to edge of another un-walkable tile and it once again became walkable. rinse and repeat 2 more times and ended up 4 tiles out into the lake.

Going to test log walls to see if this behavior is just fences or other walls

Should have checked if you could go through the river this way:)
