Report a translation problem
We encounter the new problem and report it to TIS. We can then choose to start a new save, to determine what else might be broken, or attempt to recover the save that got ruined - also to keep testing.
TIS has warned the community every year, for more than 10 years, that we should never expect that any saves in these public beta tests will be immune from game-breaking issues.
If you do not wish to put yourself at the mercy of the Unstable builds, opt out of the beta and return to playing in the stable, production version of Project Zomboid; currently, this is B41 Stable.
Buy the game on GOG
Beta versions available of GOG:
42.2
42.3.0
42.3.0_
42.4.1
42.5.1
42.6.0 is not on GOG yet.
If you don't want to buy it on gog, then you play what is offered on steam if all you have is steam version.
yeah no **** I signed up for it, I'm well aware of what happens (played b41 unstable) i'm just looking to see if I can FIX my save. If you have a problem with that then..uh.. get a life?
Are you really so pig-ignorant that you think OP is unaware of what unstable means?
OP has a good question. He's not complain or whinging but looking for a solution to a problem that has affected everyone playing this game.
If you don't know of a way to un-break the game after the latest release, just shut TF up. No one cares what you have to say.
I am kicking myself that I didn't think to suggest GOG. I have a 2nd copy of the game through them, partly to better control my access to Project Zomboid and because it is easier to rollback on my own recognizance during Unstable branch testing.
don't know if that is a requirement, but I do have gog galaxy installed.
in galaxy, go to project zomboid
at the top bar got the more button -> manage installation -> configure ->
installation tab -> Beta Channels -> drop down to unstable -> choose show more versions
there are 5 available. today is different versions now:
42.3.0
42.3.0_
42.4.1
42.5.1
42.6.0
so we loose the 42.2 beta and gain 42.6
don't be scared to start a new save on new build, you just need to wrap your head around the concept that it is ok to abandon a save and start again. don't get attached to any save at all and you will be okay. your old save was for entertainment, and the new one is too.
have fun.
if it not fun, move on with life as it is ticking away very fast.
If the conversion process is not going to be tested or even error correction functional then it should be removed from the game. Using the mantra of 'unstable' is not an excuse for a lazy and poor testing of the conversion process. That way when you people yell UNSTABLE it will mean something, namely that you need to start a new game each update.
