Worms
Anyone else not really getting any worms from digging farrows? This used to be my go-to for bait to capture birds, but I've planted around 60 crops and not one worm yet.

They seem to be much rarer now. Though maggots should work just as well.

I still get them, but it does seem that I get fewer than I did in B41. It doesn't really matter, foraging tends to give you lots of insects.

I did not look after worms and by digging clay deposits seem to drop a significant amount of them... or just use the mod someone posted linked you

I recently surfaced a road i made with gravel.. i got 100's of worms doing this.
Fill sacks with dirt/gravel/sand. you'll get more than you can use.

How do you go about doing that in-game? I feel stupid asking, but with the game mechanics the way they are right now, I'm not sure how to collect dirt and put it in a bag.

Also, are you saying you get the worms as you dig the dirt, or that they appear in the bag over time?

Make sure you have a sack and a shovel/spade/entrenching tool etc. in your inventory. Right click on a dirt/sand/gravel tile and select "shovel". You'll get an option to "Dig Graves" or "Collect dirt/sand/gravel." If you want. you can just pick up and put down the same tile of sand. You'll collect worms passively.
