Best way to increase welding skill in B42?
I've been barricading and unbarricading the same window with metal sheets since disassembling doesn't give xp. Also, how to i make a mace head and how do i make an iron block pierced?

Well... you can craft the things that don't require skill level.
That's the only way to level crafting skills now.
Raise disassembling XP level cap in the sandbox. It's currently at 0 (disabled) you can change it to lvl1 or lvl3. But in general disassembling burnout cars works, barricading windows too.
I’m playing on survival. Can I go back and change the settings?

I've found that cutting iron bars and bar halves into quarters, as well as sheets into small sheets is a pretty good way of grinding welding.

The pierced iron block is a metalworking(blacksmithing) thing. The mace head will presumably be a metalworking thing as well, but the recipe doesn't seem to actually exist yet even though there's a magazine that unlocks it.

Edit: Just found a recipe in debug that let's you pierce an iron block with a standing drill press, but I have no idea where to find a standing drill press.

you can start the game in debug, in the game library, open up properties, and in the launch options type in -debug when you open up the game, there will be a bug symbol you can click on that will give you access to things, such as changing the sandbox settings.
thank you

Some tool stores have them, some will spawn in basements or garages.

The obvious places you'd find heavy tools.

So debug works in b42? I thought i read somewhere it wasn't working or messed up.

It's only bugged if you use mods, I think.
I've only played vanilla so far, and I've been using debug mode to cheat bugged items.
I used the mod listed to change the dismantling xp to something greater than 0.

Dismantling car wrecks still gives Welding XP in B42. That's how i've grinded it.

can you dismantle cars in vanilla? I don't see that option everywhere and I have every welding tool and mask imaginable.

Maybe you should bring those tools to a car wreck next time than.
all it takes is welding equipment.
