No Loot in Knox Military Apartments in B42
Does anybody know if the spawn tables were changed significantly for the Knox Military Apartments in March Ridge?

I didn't know about March Ridge until this patch, came across it randomly, saw all the zeds, painstakingly cleared all of the buildings surrounding the apartments and most of the inside, just to finally get to looting to find... nothing. Not a single gun or box of ammo across two whole floors so far. I was really surprised

It just feels like standard house loot, and this surprised me, given the "Knox Military Apartments" sign on the front. I looked it up only to realize that many consider the place to be a "treasure trove of firearms and ammunition" (quoting the wiki), and, for some reason, I wasn't seeing any of it.

This is B42 with the "They Knew" mod only on Apocalypse without any changes to loot settings.

I'll give that a go and report back.

Searched the entire first floor of the Knox Military Apartments with loot set to "Abundant" in all categories (to keep the distribution the same).

Toolboxes, purses, handbags, all types of musical instrument cases, LOTS of games, VHS tapes, and "fun" books/postcards/photos, and THREE bellows. The amount of instruments in the place would make you think it's dorm rooms for a college of music.

The closest I got to finding anything related to guns/ammo was a SINGULAR holster. Well, that, and a "Guns and Ammo" catalog. I found like 4 knives and 1 axe as well.

Clearly something's up with the loot tables, seing that bellows are significantly more common in the military apartments than guns are.

Sounds like it lines up with what I've found at police stations and hunting stores, farming rural supply stores. Fallas Lake (used to be known as Ekron by the fans), the farming hunting supply store was a fantastic spot to find weaponry there and I only found ammo boxes and not even a single gun at the nearby police station. So something is off.

Not even gun cases in the bedroom cabinets and dressers? That's where you find the firearms. Back in b41 at least.

I found sewing kits and a large amount of saxophone cases, now that you mention it.

They are apartement,not a armory.
It was always odd that off-duty army personal will let M16 and other rifle in their cupboard.

In a side note, The wiki is not to be trust. It is out-of-dated or just personal opinion of the writter that day.

That was one of those locations that spawned as a survivor home some of the time. You would most likely need to find the annotated map first if it still exists. When it did you would get endless supplies of almost everything, but if it didn't spawn as survivor home it would just be a normal apartment building.

That's a good point. I made the same rationalization when I found no guns or ammo, but I'd expect at least a single pistol case out of two floors at least.

From the few videos I've seen, it should have guns/ammo even when not a survivor home and be completely flush with loot when it is.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not here to complain. If I don't like it, I'll just change the sandbox settings to suit my needs. I just wanted to ask the question and see if anybody else had experienced this.

Most likely the loot distribution has been changed and causes firearms to spawn less even in March Ridge.

Maybe try playing with abundant loot and see if anything changes.

Depends on where and what the regulations are on a federal and state level. As far as I see it, the military apartments aren't anywhere on a base so they would have no problems storing their own firearms there. If this were on base then there would be a issue. These apartments are like any other residential buildings. They're off-base living quarters.

I've noticed in general, March Ridge aside, the spawn of guns and ammo overall has been far much lower even at police stations in my own play-throughs. Either the loot distribution is highly bugged or this is a serious bad case of poor RNG for us all.

March Ridge is not the millitary base, It is a town made to house the OFF-DUTY personel of Fort Knox.
I doubt that millitary will let the gear get taken home by soldier for hunting trip.

Thats what I said. Being that that its off base housing, they can store personal firearms there.

And soldiers are far more-likely to own firearms personally, especially in the United States, it seems.
