The closest i might have had a chance to find one was with a Benkman Building Van:D
Sadly it had a trunk bug. As in you open it and the trunk icon does not appear.
You can close it and open it just not check :D
the new sissy vibe is OTT. and i love a sis vibe but this one is OTT simp based.
lol
i cant be as much of a simp as i need to be to play like this
But yeah, in general, default loot distribution in b42 kinda sucks IMO. Just kinda funny that paperbacks and regular books are the most common loot now, as they spawn nearly in every type of container.
Looking for tools in a shed? Too bad, here's a book for you. And no, it's not even a skill book. Kek.
Of course, it's still in the hands of rngesus, so on another character I found one pretty much immediately. I think that's the main issue here, too many new items reducing the likelihood of the game spawning the ones you actually need. When it comes down to something as essential as knowing how to plug in generators, it can be a serious pain in the neck. That's why I usually do electrician builds now. :)
Good news, you just need electrical 3 to use a generator now. Grind out those tv/lamps/range hoods/treadmill dismantles along with every other electronic item. But you know, the biggest issue was all the missing furniture, not all the now missing electronics. lol.
Although this was after clearing the entire lumber mill, and Muldragh warehouse. Moving every crate around to search even the ones in the back rows.
There were 11 McCoy Lumber Mill vehicles at the mill. None of which had a wood axe. Apparently they only use fire axes to cut trees there now. I have yet to find a wood axe in the game at all. I think there are even three variations now, or maybe two, and three sledge hammer variants, but so far... only 1 sledgehammer.
I have found more m16s than both sledgehammers and wood axes combined. And probably 5 how to use generators mags, including the two in my starting home...
You can find axes in mccoys work vans
Sledge hammers in work trucks, vehicle stories, and buildings being constructed like near brandenburg.
Generator magazines can be found in electrical work vans and mccoys
Skillbooks are found in places with similar tools, riverside has skillbooks in the warehouses with the tools. Farming, fishing camping places have those books.
Scrap weapon recipes /skillbooksare found on survivor zombies which are very easy to find in hoards
B42 loot is still being tinkered with, especially the new maps and basements
So I am just saying that on normal, not rare, but normal loot, there should be at least one, if not dozens of wood axes at a lumber mill. Instead of fire axes. There were dozens of them for sure, but not a single wood axe.
And for the sledgehammer, you should reliably find one if not more in a hardware store. On normal loot settings.
Skill books also to a lesser extent are more rare also, just due to how many more new ones there are. For example you could reliably go to Rosewood school to find almost all of them before, and only need like 4 or 5 more, but now, even on normal, you find only 4 or 5 book cases of like 5 or 6. So like less than probably a 10th of all books there now. Way less books in total than before because the stress books are on way more shelves now.
I did find the best way to find a lot of books and magazines without a horde of zombies is the mail vans. Also mail facilities have tons of books. They are less of a problem though even with the increase number of them. It is just way to crazy rare to find sledgehammers, and I wonder now if wood axes haven't been removed or something.
Everyone knows during a realistic zombie apocalypse people would grab everything they can and turn it into dust before turning into zombies
was responding to prism but im dumb and did not hit quote reply
Found an old axe inside in rotten condition.
Learned wood carving, it's bugged and well bugged. Head condition back to 100% after reassembly with new handle.
This is unstable... new buttlenecks because new perks and new loot.
Good luck to PZ team for found a balance.
I feel like I am going crazy, I turned the entirety of Muldraugh upside down and found neither a normal hammer or a sledge. I've got a couple of ballpeen hammers and wooden mallets, but I can't get my hands on a single claw hammer?
I've even checked the trunks of every vehicle I could get into at the moment and am frustrated by the idea that I have to move to the next city for one damn tool. I'm glad basements are a thing so I can have another empty room in every household.
Unless the loot stuff gets shifted, I am probably going to buckle and bump my rarity up to Normal because this is just insanity.
