It is, although, i've lost a save once due to over multiplication of rats.
Yeah, the small animals have loads of offspring. I just keep 4 adults together because of that. The pups have a zone of their own. When they grow up, they either replace their parents or win a ticket to the rainbow bridge.

Any way to put the smaller animals down after you pick them up? they die when dropped. Cant figure out how to butcher them either, need a recipe?

I haven't seen animals drink from anything other than a trough (or eat cut grass left on the ground), but you can feed food and water to animals by hand in a pinch if no tough is available.

Also, dropping chickens on the ground seems to kill them. There is a right click option for the hutch that allows you to place them in there safely. Make sure the hutch is kept clean, or you get sick chickens. Now how can you nurse sick chickens back to health, or are they SOL?

- You can catch live rabbits with traps and raise them, a great source of food, since they have many babies at once, and very quickly.
- You can do this with rats too, I believe.

How do you catch rabbits, with farming being broken? What do you bait the traps with?

I twice lured and caught rabbits by hand using a potato that I foraged from the farmlands. I assume such foraged crops can be used to bait traps too.

I built a hutch and two feeding troughs, they are inside the zone. Whenever I open the zone options it still says there are no hutches or troughs... what's happening? Anyone with the same issue? I can't open the Hutch menu as well or transfer hens/roosters to it...

I have this same issue, no matter which type of trough i build it the zone doesn't detect them. They also don't fill with water or food or anything. They're just broken.

I've been seeing if it's just better off making use of the already build farms around Echo Creek. I feel the area west of the Gas station and south of the Auto repair shop to have everything needed to raise animals. Since currently it seems you can't build an structure that counts as a roof.

Has anyone figured out what triggers this so one can avoid it. So far all I've heard is don't use a hutch.

If a lake or creek is in the livestock zone, the animals will drink out of that. instead of needing a pot or trough.

I thought it was fixed in a recent update.

All animals were affected, chicken just have faster growth cycle so everyone got hit by chickens first. They also for some reason hatched in the fridges.

Not at all.
My sheep died when faced with too much water.

I've found that the log stairs count as a single roof piece, presumably the bit at the top, looks awful, but stops my cows getting stressed. If anyone finds another way to provide roof / shelter please let me know.

Sure. I had messed around with that. Right now code seems to be bugged and does not recognise player built roofs as roofed area in animal zones, even if it perfectly recognise building as being fully roofed for other purposes. The way to make your roof count is to place some floor tiles you picked up somewhere else over your built roof, for example - place straw matting readily available in mass at any farm. As long as you place those onto your built roof, game will now recognize your stuff as roofed area. Enjoy.
